You've Got Mail

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. (John 10:27)

God wants to talk with you. Yes, you were created with the ability to hear God's voice. A vital part of God's plan for your life is understanding that He wants to communicate with you and in turn have you communicate with Him. What are some keys to being able to hear His voice?

• Trust in this promise of John 10:27- God, by His Holy Spirit, is talking, but many times it's hard to hear. Meditate on this scripture and thank God for it. Trust that you can hear His voice today.
• It takes time- Communication is two ways. And it takes time. Set aside time each day, morning or afternoon, and purpose to become quiet to talk with and hear from the Lord.
• God speaks to your spirit man- The Holy Spirit will speak with the born-again spirit. We can train our inner man to sense the nudges, quickening, and whisper of the Holy Spirit. Many times a simple repression upon our minds and thoughts is the work of the Holy Spirit.
• God speaks to you from His Word- Spend quality time meditating on God's Word. The Holy Spirit will quicken His Word to your spirit and confirm His voice and will through you.

Today, take the time to hear. Tomorrow, do the same. After awhile, you too will be able to know His voice. Pretty soon, you'll be able to communicate freely and whenever with God. You'll never know when you'll hear that "You've Got Mail" notice...it might be the Lord!
