"See, I have called by name Bezalel and I have filled him with the Spirit of God." (Exodus 31:2)
Bezalel was filled with the Holy Spirit! Why? So he would have the wisdom and skills necessary to build the temple of God. This is an amazing passage of scripture, because this is the first mention in the Bible of an individual being filled with the Holy Spirit.
The story surrounding this verse shows us today an amazing principle found in the Bible, which is that God is highly interested in empowering His people in every facet of their lives, even in the workplace. We're told that God "filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom...and to work in all manner of workmanship." (Exodus 31:3-5)
This shows us today that it is possible for an individual to be in variety of workplace settings and to be anointed by the Holy Spirit. That is, an anointing to be creative and have wisdom, understanding, and excel because of the anointing. Let's look at a few principles that will help you apply this.
Know that your work is of God - Studies show that up to 80% of people on the job desire to look for other employment. where has God place you? Start there and believe for God to use you.
Ask the Lord to anoint you for the work - Whether you work at a business or at home raising kids, it's all work. Pray and believe God can cause you to be creative and blessed in your workmanship.
While on the job, expect to be anointed - What would your job look like anointed by the Holy Spirit? Would you complete tasks with excellence, more quickly, more easily, with less work, and with an increase in all areas?
Today, pray for the Holy Spirit;s power in increase and bless you in everyday living. The Holy Spirit knows what He is doing.
