"Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country." (Deuteronomy 28:3)
Read this verse several times and let the truth of it sink down in your spirit. Yes, the Lord wants you blessed, regardless of where you may be. God's plan for your life includes your dwelling place, your work occupation, and everything in between.
Many today feel stuck in the workplace environment. The job doesn't pay enough, the boss is rather difficult to work for, you don't have enough education, you've been fired or let go one too many times. And the list goes on. Or maybe you're the housewife at home taking care of the kids. Many don't consider what you do as work, but oh, you know all to well that you pay your dues, and most of the time for very little economic benefit.
Regardless of your situation, read the above verse again and consider what you'd like to see happen in your life with respect to work. Would you like to apply for a new job? Do you have a dream of having your own business? As a mom at home, what would make your life easier? Okay, then , understand that God has a plan for your economic welfare. He has gifted you to be blessed in the workplace or in your home. Ask yourself this question. What steps can I take today to be positioned for God's best? A different job, more education, believe for a promotion? It all takes at least one step in a positive direction and the Lord can begin to work within your circumstances. Go through and review your evaluation matrix from a couple of days ago and bring to the Lord those things you can't change and the things you can. Rest assured, as you press into God's best and begin moving in a new direction, God will take over and see to it that blessings come your way, either in the city or country, it does not matter.
