Handcrafted Workmanship

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk with them. (Ephesians 2:10)

You are God's handiwork, His craftsmanship, His creation. And God doesn't make anything second rate. Remember when He created the world and then we are told that, "God saw everything that He made, and indeed it was very good." (Genesis 1:31) Therefore, He made you "very good" as well. Do you believe this?

One of the major challenges facing Christians is to truly believe what God has said about them. Sometimes this is very difficult, because many are raised with all sorts of abusive backgrounds, leaving them living in shame-based lifestyles. Many are codependent, bound, insecure, doubtful, self-destructive, and so forth. But, once you start believing that you truly are God's creation, a change will take place in your spirit. You will find out that you are not a mistake. Yes, you may have carried extra baggage, but in Christ the past is washed away and all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Now comes the part about why you were created. Read this part again, "for good works." God, in His infinite love, grace, and plan, has created each of us to partner with Him as has empowered us for good works. Let's put it another way. God created you to do good. You were created for an assignment. You were placed on this earth for His plan. Therefore, take a look at yourself and see what God has placed in you. What gifts do you have? What skills and passions do you have? Take those and allow God to work through you for some good today. Even the simplest of tasks can bring a blessing to someone else. Now pray this, "Lord, thank you that I'm wonderfully made and that you've gifted me for goodness. Open the doors and clear the way for me to do a good work for someone else. Amen."
