God's Working in You

God will...make you complete in every good work to do His will, in you what is pleasing in His sight. (Hebrews 13:21)

It is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. (Philippians 2:13)

You've seen the sign, "Men at Work?" Well you can also put a sign around you that says, "God at Work," because He is. Today we gain a little more insight as to how He's putting His purpose together. Basically, He's working it out...in you, through you, upon you, because of you. You see, God is working in you by His Holy Spirit to bring about His plan for you.

God is working in you through your desires, emotions, thoughts, inspirations, and motives. He is actively a part of your dreams and visions. Many believers have no idea of how closely intertwined the working of God are into who you are. The way it works is this. You come into a relationship with Him first, and then, as you fellowship with Him, you begin to have desires, yearnings, and a dream of being something for God. You read about Jesus healing the sick, and then you say, "That's something I'd like to do." You read and hear of people coming to Christ and you have a nudge that you'd like to get in the action. You read of God's promises for the family and the next thing you know you desire to have little ones yourself. You see a very prosperous individual give away lots of money to a needy cause and you say, "Someday I'll do that, too." And so on...As we walk with God He will see to it that a passion for Him and His purpose takes over and somehow you can't get it off your thinking. What's happening? He's pointing us in the direction He wants us to go. His gifts empower with the ability to accomplish great things. His love is the foundational motive for all we do and His grace sustain us in this race. So, today, let Him work it out in you. Ask yourself, where do I want to go in the next few years? Ask God the same thing. And then, take a step into life and allow Him to work out the details...
