God's Family Reunion

"We, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another." (Romans 12:5)

Next time you go to church, look around you. What do you see? It's a family reunion! Yes, it's God's family, His children, and we're all getting together to celebrate and worship Him.

A very important element of God's plan for you is for you to discover and learn of His plan for you in the local church. We are told in the Bible that God is at work joining us all together with each other and with Him (Ephesians 4:16). This joining is literal and spiritual. Literal in that God wants each of us to get together for the purpose of fellowship, edification, and glorification of the Lord (Hebrews 10:25). And it is spiritual in that we are connected to each other in the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit.

What is your place in the local church? Using the verse above and the analogy of the body of Christ, are you, then, a little toe or a shoulder? The know or a right eye? Continuing the thought of God's plan for you includes not only your individual plan, the family plan, but also His plan for you in church. The local church is the major platform through which you will learn, understand, grow and have the opportunity to be used bu God in your giftings to serve one another.

Next time you are at church, take a moment to reflect on your role and place in the church. We all need one another. We are to build one another. And, yes, forgive one another. Why? Since we are human, there will be tendency to step on someone's toes, although not intentionally.

What is God's plan for you? Don't forget this important part, too. You need both the individual plan and local church plan for you to be complete. Now, call some friends and invite them to your family reunion this weekend.
