Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. (Hebrews 12:2)
God created the heavens and earth, the stars and the universe, man and woman. And originally everything was in perfect order. Then, we know what occurred and sin disrupted lives for centuries to come. But god's plan to reestablish His order was already in motion running parallel with mankind so that our lives could once again be brought back to Him. We know this today as the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
One of the foundational truths of God reestablishing His plan in our lives is to reconnect us to Him through the power source of faith. It takes childlike faith to connect to and trust in our Lord to the end that He can work out all the details of our lives. The process is rather simple, really. He gives us insight into His plan and promise, we believe and trust in Him and He performs in our lives what He's promised. But the key here is this faith and trust relationship. How do we have this faith and trust in a God we've never seen? Good question.
The above verse shows that Jesus is the author, the originator, the instigator, the One who plants the seed of faith into our hearts. Romans 12:3 teaches us that God has given the measure of faith to everyone. When you were born again, Jesus placed the ability to have faith and trust in your heart. Further, Jesus is the finisher, the completer, and the One who brings our faith to maturity and sees to it that what He has planned for our lives is fulfilled.
So, the final result is rather amazing. God has a plan for every life and the means whereby we can trust Him to bring it about. He places faith in out hearts by His Word, and we trust Him and daily watch Him set up life circumstances whereby His plan and will are unfolded right before our eyes. Today, let a simple, strong, and bold faith rest in your heart that God is working and will complete this project called life.
