The Family Life Plan

"...in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." (Genesis 12:3)

In today's verse we read of God's promise to Abraham where families throughout the earth and continuing throughout time would be blessed by Him. Now that's influence! How about you? Not everyone today is currently in a married position to grow a family; nevertheless, the application holds true for married couples and singles. This, we'll look at the literal and the spiritual applications in this verse. Let's consider:

1.) Your direct family - If you are married and have kids, how far will your influence grow? If you are a parent or a grandparent, you have the potential to impart a blessing of God's plan for generations to come. We don't know the date of the Lord's return , but what if it occurs in 200 years? Wouldn't you like to leave a legacy of generational blessing? Imagine great-grand kids knowing and serving the Lord from your influence. All of a sudden, God's plan for your life has taken a long-term meaning.

2.) Your spiritual family - This is your brother or sister in the Lord. These are the ones you are connected to within the body of Christ. You discover your Life Plan and then help others by your gifting. You learn of God's plan for you and then mentor and help someone else to discover his or hers. Either way, we find out that God's plan includes us to multiply and extend His purpose throughout the earth.

In summary, we need to realize that no person lives unto himself or herself in God's plan, but that His plan for us includes sharing Him with others. We can now call it the Family Plan. Now, who can you help today to discover their life plan?
